Feeling Loved

Last night I was asked to help out at church in the nursery by babysitting for a couple hours. When I got to church I saw a few of the mentors from my Apples of Gold group that I was in about a year ago. Many of them came up to me and congratulated me and gave me hugs. I just felt overwhelmed with all the love and congratulations that I received from them. Thank you to my entire Apples of Gold group. You helped me prepare for becoming a mother and that is invaluable to me.

Week 11 size update

Our baby is getting so big!!

"Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming. "(copied from babycenter.com)
This past weekend I was not feeling good at all, but I think I'm getting better now. Not much else major happened this week. I am looking forward to not feeling nauseous in a couple weeks, and having more energy. My house is suffering so badly with me being down and out every evening. Even going to the grocery store right after work yesterday made me very exhausted.
But on the bright side, I'm posting some pictures of a few of the gifts we've already received!
This baby quilt was made by my Grandma Hessing. After she passed my mom had the honor of giving it to me in her name. Modeled today by my little cutie, Hershey.

Nom nom nom given by Becky and Jon Christensen

And this was also given by Becky and Jon.
"Cause lets face it, that baby is going to be in charge!!" ~Becky C.

There will be more pictures of gifts later. But I'd like to get our nursery cleaned up a bit so I can start taking pictures in there! I will also be posting baby bump pictures soon. (maybe, depends how fat I look :P)

Week 10 size update

Wow, week 10 already. I am officially 2 months along now. Here is the weekly size update for baby Hunt #1 from babycenter.com
"Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.
He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches."

I actually had to look up what a kumquat was today....

I'm so excited right now. The idea that my baby is actually taking form and shape and is starting to look like a baby. I've already wanted to start thinking about how to paint the nursery, and what to buy, and so much stuff that I really don't need to think about at the moment.

Well as far as my update goes, Sunday was the worst day of sickness. I actually had a bucket ready to go. Didn't need it, but I felt like I was going to need to. Other then that it's been about the same. Oh! I've also discovered that I can't eat much sweet stuff in the evenings. So that'll help my diet, but not my chocolate cravings. :(

Not much else this week. Thanks to everyone who is reading!

Dr. Appointment #1

YAY!!!!! We are really having a baby!!! I even got to kinda see it today.

So Alex and I went to the doctor today for the first checkup. We had to do all the family history and everything like that. After that we got a chance to hear the heartbeat. At first, the nurse could not find it, so then she did an ultrasound. So we got to see our tiny moving blob inside me!! (squee!!!) Then after she found the baby, we got to hear the heartbeat for real. It was hard to hear, but it was there. The nurse confirmed that we are only having one baby (whew) and we also set up the appointment for the 20 week ultrasound. Needless to say I am super excited and cannot wait to see our baby at 20 weeks. We are not going to find out the gender, we want it to be a surprise. But we still want to see him/her on the ultrasound. Our due date is now officially November 13th.

Well, I'm not feeling the best this evening, so off I go! More on Monday for the size update.

(happy little jump!!!)

Our little Grape

I am super excited for this week! Our first doctor appointment is only a few days away!!!! This week I'm just going to copy and paste the week 9 size update straight from babycenter.com

"Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain."

I am so excited that on Thursday or Friday I'll be sharing the wonderful news with all of my friends (aka Facebook). I still need to make a few more phone calls before I spill the beans. I still haven't told some of my really good friends, mostly cause I haven't seen them recently. I guess I had better get on it! lol

Last week I was feeling nauseous quite a bit in the evenings. Makes it hard for me to do housework when I don't feel like moving. I have also noticed my pants getting a little tight already. so it's kinda a bummer to be getting bigger, but not have a baby belly yet! I'm so hoping I'll get a cute baby belly....

Alex and I got a new bed frame and slats last Wednesday and we've been sleeping so much better! I'm glad we got it then cause I don't want to even think about how painful sleeping on the floor could have gotten in the next 7 months.

I hope that whoever is reading this is enjoying it. Feel free to leave comments if you feel so inclined. However, I have a sneaking hunch that the reader is my sister and therefore, you don't need to leave comments cause I see you every other day! lol

Another post on Thursday unless I feel the need to write before then. Thanks again for reading!

Kidney Bean

I forgot to post the weekly update for Hunt baby #1 yesterday, so here it is!

This week marks 8 weeks for our baby. He/She is the size of a kidney bean and fingers and toes are starting to poke out. He/she now has eyelids on their eyes and the breathing tubes are starting to form! The little tail that embryos have is just about gone, and the in the brain, nerve cells are starting to connect.

I've been having much more nausea this past week, including at work. Thankfully, my boss is kind enough to let me munch on crackers while I'm working. One thing I'm very sad about is that apparently, eggs are making me feel sick right now! I eat eggs for breakfast every day! Grrr.... Hopefully it'll only last the first trimester.

I'm still hoping I can find a bible study soon. I know that I need to read my bible more.

Well hopefully I won't be as lazy as last week and I'll actually get some real work done! If nothing else, I'll post next Monday, and then again next Thursday (the 12th!!!!). I'll also try to get the pics of the gifts we've already received up on here.
