This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
Not much baby related happened this week. His/her movements are still pretty consistent, and my heartburn and stuff is still about the same. The baby shower is coming up in about 2 weeks so I'm very excited for that! Alex and I are still working on getting the budget worked out for after baby comes, but he now has a new job and we have a hopeful future ahead with that. It's closer to home and he can get extra cash by doing some special projects that I don't quite understand. But it makes me excited to know that extra money may be coming in to help with the new baby expenses.
I've also started looking at crock-pot freezer meals for when baby comes. I know that some nights I won't want to cook anything so I plan to get at least a couple weeks worth of meals in the freezer before hand. Pinterest has been my friend for this part of planning. :)
Tonight Alex and I start the childbirth classes together. Like I said before, I've watched them already, but this time we are doing them together so we can discuss the sessions as a couple and figure out exactly what we want during labor and delivery. I have no delusions that I may be incoherent during labor, so I want Alex to know exactly what I want so he can tell the doctors if need be.
Well I think that's it for now. Thanks for reading and God Bless!!
My experiences becoming a new mom, updates about our son, and hopefully inspiring words from our Lord.

Week 32 Update
From babycenter.com
By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
Only 8 weeks to go.... 2 months... Wow the time sure went fast!
The baby room is almost ready. We have the crib (thank you L&G) we have a changing table (thank you M&J), we have a rocking chair, and a dresser. So much stuff in so little space. Now we just need to fill it with pretty things. Hershey (our dog) keeps sniffing around all the new stuff trying to figure out if it's for her or not. I hope she's not too jealous when the baby comes.
In the really good news portion of this blog today (although not really baby related) my hubby got a new job! He's going to be making the same amount, but he'll be much closer to home, only 5 miles away, YAY!
Not much else to talk about today, so I'm going to wrap it up. Continuing prayers for our finances would be much appreciated, and thank you to those of you who do pray for us. It is so comforting to know we have that kind of support.
Thanks for reading and God Bless.

Week 31 Update
Oops! I totally forgot to write last week! Silly me. Here is the week 31 update from babycenter.com
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
Ah! My 40 week bible study keeps telling me that my baby is about ready to make an appearance. So soon? I still have lots of ti.... Oh hey, only 9 more weeks! Where did the past seven months go? Well the good news is We got the baby room painted, yay! Thank you to my mom and my sister for helping out, and to my wonderful hubby.
I am super happy with the results. The stripes were not easy, but totally worth it. My wonderful in-laws bought us a crib just the other week, so I plan to have that set up and in the room today or tomorrow. We will also be receiving a changing table from my wonderful parents very soon as well. I'm so excited! Therefore, we are pretty well set up as far as furniture goes, we just need to get everything into the room.
Baby registries are up! We are registered at Babies R Us and Target. I'll probably keep adding things to them, but at least we have a start. Once again, we are not finding out the gender until baby makes his/her grand appearance, so if you are really set on getting the baby something pink or blue, you'll just have to wait.
My best friends are throwing me a baby shower next month, and I got the invites just the other day. So cute!! And I'm super excited to see all my friends. Thanks Bec and Tiff for being awesome!
Well I think that is all for this week, next week (week 32) I have a doctor appointment and after that I have to go in every 2 weeks. But anyway. Thanks for reading and for your prayers, and God Bless!
